Today is Fife Council. The event of the meeting has to be the announcement by Council Leader David Ross, that progress has been made in discussions with St Andrew’s University and its new Principal, on identification of a potential site for a new Madras High School.
The young people in St Andrews and Tayport area have waited for years and years for a new replacement school. We thought we had identified a site at Pipeland but due to judicial challenge the proposal was rejected and therefore a new search for sites was again being undertaken.
A full report on the site assessment process that has been underway will come to the Executive Committee on 13 December – let’s hope there will all party support for agreeing the way ahead and ensuring that a new high school can finally be delivered for the community.
